Join us!

Choose sessions and activities based on your individual interests and build a custom agenda for your Fall Open House visit. Experience firsthand the vibrant community, innovative programs, and unique opportunities that set Miami apart. Attend academic information sessions, speak with faculty and students, tour campus and student housing, eat in a student dining hall, and learn more about your next steps to become a RedHawk.  

The Fall Open House is intended for high school students and their families.

8-8:30 a.m. — Check-in

8:30-9 a.m. — Welcome

9-9:45 a.m. — Session 1 (various options; descriptions below)

10-10:45 a.m. — Session 2 (various options; descriptions below)

11-11:50 a.m. — Session 3 (various options; descriptions below)


12 p.m.-12:50 p.m. — Session 4 (various options; descriptions below)

1-3 p.m. — Campus Tours, Residence Hall Tours, Specialized Tours, Lunch (optional)

Session Descriptions

During registration, you will select an event during each session that most appeals to your interests. 

Session 1
Admission Information Session: Join us for an overview of campus life, academics, and the admission and financial aid processes. This would be a good session for those students and guest who have already submitted an application or who are familiar with the college search and application process.


Student Life Presentation
: Join members of our Student Engagement, Activities, and Leadership staff and current students to learn more about how you can get involved in a variety of organizations and activities including Greek Life during your four years at Miami.  

Honors College Presentation
: Are you interested in being a Miami University Honors College student? Attend this session, led by Executive Director Dr. Zeb Baker, where you will learn about what sets the Honors College experience apart and how to make the most of your college education.

Academic Mini Tour
: Join our current students for a mini tour that includes the McVey Data Science Building, Clinical Health Sciences Building, and King Library.

Session 2
Honors College Presentation: Are you interested in being a Miami University Honors College student? Attend this session, led by Executive Director Dr. Zeb Baker, where you will learn about what sets the Honors College experience apart and how to make the most of your college education.  

Study Abroad, Career Preparation, and Undergraduate Research Panel: Join our panel of experts from Career Services, Education Abroad, and the Office of Undergraduate Research to learn about all the study abroad, research, internship and career preparation opportunities available to our students.

Student Life Mini Tour: Join our current students for a mini tour that includes the Armstrong Student Center, Goggin Ice Center, and the Rec Center.

Admission 101: Not sure how to access the Common Application, the difference between Early Decision and Early Action, or the difference between a scholarship and grant? This is the session for you! We will go over how to apply, what we look for in an application, and provide information on the difference between scholarships and need-based financial aid. This session is recommended for first-generation college students and those who aren't sure where to begin when it comes to the application process.

Session 3
DesignYourFuture: College of Creative Arts: Take a class, discover a minor, and/or study a major. Learn about all the opportunities in the College of Creative Arts.

Residence Hall Tour: Learn more about Miami’s residential experience while a Residence Life staff member takes you on a tour of one of our residence halls. This session is full. If interested in a tour, stop by a residence hall from 1 - 2:30 p.m. for a tour.

College of Education, Health, and Society Overview: Join us to learn about the academic programs in the College of Education, Health, and Society: Education, Kinesiology, Nutrition, Public Health, Social Work, and Sport Leadership and Management. This session will include an overview of the college, a student panel, and question and answer session.  

College of Engineering and Computing Overview: Join us for an overview of the programs and opportunities available for students in the College of Engineering and Computing.

Session 4
Farmer School of Business Overview: Join us to learn about the Farmer School of Business including life at Miami, student organizations, internships, and academic experiences.  

Residence Hall Tour: The residence hall tour will be led by our Residence Life staff.

Department of Nursing Overview: Engage with current Miami Nursing students and hear highlights of the BSN program.

College of Arts and Science: Biological and Physical Sciences, Mathematics and Data Science: Learn more about majors and minors in our natural science, math, and data science areas. This session will include an overview of the college, a faculty panel, and a question and answer session.  

College of Arts and Science: Social Science and Humanities: Join the College of Arts and Science to learn about our world-class programs in human behavior, society, politics, culture, and language. Our immersive, hands-on student experience and opportunities in research, internships, and study abroad/away will prepare you for a range of exciting careers. Engage with our faculty and students during our tours and break-out sessions.
